To your stands......one half mile on level road seems so much shorter than in the woods. How far will you walk?

Depends on how many ridges I have to walk over..... D :)istance isn't a big deal but mountains are........

I walked probably 3/4 of a mile to a stand last year and last few hundred feet up a ridge. I won't do that anymore...I was always sweating like crazy when I got there no matter how strip down I got. It wasn't worth it to me...seen a few deer but nothing worth that walk! lol Guess I am getting old.

Same for me, I always walk to my stands. Distances vary from 300 yards to several miles depending on where I am on any particular day. I really believe that walking in has a significantly lower impact on deer then driving trucks or ATV's. The only time I drive on any of the properties I hunt is to do work, or to retrieve dead animals. Other then that no motorized vehicles are permitted.
