Out West I've killed animals to about 60 yards, but Whitetails 45 yards at Catoosa one year is my longest shot. I wont even shoot that far anymore unless its a unique situation, 35-40 is my max with 20 being much more favorable!

28 yards is the longest. My average is probably 16 yards, though.

I range my area and pick trees/stumps that are about 20 yards.
I don't think that I have ever shot at a deer much further than that.....
Most times I get so close that I don't need to.....

Most times I get so close that I don't need to..... Thats the whole idea, Im much more proud of the good bucks I've shot inside 20 yards that never knew I was there, than any long shots i've ever taken! Bow hunting is all about up close and personal. It will test your skills when you have to pinpoint exactly where they will be, not within a 100 yards any direction. Thats what makes it so much fun, the challenge!!! Separates the Men from the Boys so to speak! LOL
