I've gone around 23 yards many times, mostly on turkey for some reason. My limit would be 25. Interestingly, I've never had a shot that was outside my range (within reason). It's either been within 23 or it's been way outside the zone.

ive killed 8 deer with a bow and the furthest shot has been 26 yards.

i usually bow hunt pretty think stuff and rarely have a shot past 20 yards.

One year in bear camp, we set a bear target up across the lake. It was 86 yards and we did not allow hunters use range finders. Noone hit it in less than four shots. Lots of arrows in the lake $\:\)$

My problem with shots at live animals at extreme ranges is what all can happen before the arrow gets there. A little breeze, animal takes one step, etc., it all goes down the crapper. Not fair to the animal.

I'll take a shot out to maybe 60 yards on an elk or a caribou if they are dead still and have their head down and there is no wind. They have a much larger kill zone than a deer.
