My wife hates the whispering so much she throws a fit everytime I try to watch a show while she is in the room. So of course I tell her she can leave the room.

Yep, just selling products to make a dollar, like many other shows out there these days! Take it in stride and you can watch them.

I have found that many of the shows I get are very good. They seem more realistic in that they have some episodes where there are misses and not so perfect shots. That kind of hunting is more like what really happens. There are some that annoy me but most of the ones I watch are OK. It has actually got me into watching them more this year then in years past.

I watch very few myself, some are very phony and annoying. I don't like the music cause I can't hear very well anymore and the music drowns out everything else. I don't like the " I thank brand x bow and brand x sight and brand xbroadhead etc, ( I do like to see a Trophy Rock in the footage though , it helps put food on the table), If you don't like it hit the remote, I do.But remember these shows have to be financed via commercials just like every other tv show. I think now Every 55 min tv show has 18 mins of commercials. If you didn't have the commercials your dish network would cost you maybe 10 grand a year !
I do watch some because I want to learn all I can and you can gleam some good stuff out of them occasionally !

Most of the hosts come off looking like fools, whether it's their fault or not. With the music and trash talk, many are trying to appeal to younger people, but they end up creating a disrespectful tone. The viewer feels no authenticity, and can't identify with hosts who are basically advertising automatons with embellished personalities. They rely on the inclusion of exceptional specimens of game and cleverly edited scenarios to "entertain".

It is part of the new cool guy approach to hunting. You aren't a cool guy hunting show host unless there is speed metal in the background.

The best example is the tool who hosts by far the most horrendous show....Arrow Affliction. That guy, well....it would be fine if he just disappeared all together. Maybe aliens can take care of it.

Just went through checking the ones we have "On Demand" These are 30 minute shows at regular air time, and are listed as 22 minutes for on Demand. They run 15 minutes in total without the commercials, but that also counts the "product highlights" they have within the show. In all, a 30 minute show consists of about 12 minutes of hunting related footage, and this includes the background stuff like the ranch they are hunting on etc. many "hunting" shows have very little hunting in them. Others that don't have product spotlights run about 11 minutes without commercials. Like I said before, they are commercials with a little hunting in them. Not all of the hunting shows are this way, but it seems that all the mainstrean ones on the big channels are more about selling something than they are about hunting.
