Ok....im confused footer...i thought the Ensley Unit was the part most people put in for and was the hardest to get??? thought thats why it only drawed 30 hunters??.......very confused now......... Nope. It's the other way around. PI (Excluding the Ensley Unit) is the more desireable draw of the two. Ensley Unit's 30 hunter draw is due to it's smaller size.

Oh yeah. Don't get me wrong. The Ensley Unit has some big bucks on it. As a matter of fact, I believe the biggest buck taken on Presidents Island last year came off of the Ensley Unit. But of the 2 choices, the 5,000 acre main Island Unit, in my opinion, is the better draw.

Ensley's acreage is more like 900 acres and it is not on the island itself but a few miles south of there. Put Ensley in the Search Topic and read some of the threads about it.

TWRA will send out a packet with maps and hunt information in September. If you have questions feel free to call the Region 1 office. However where to hunt questions are better asked of the guys who have hunted the areas. This was the big one from Ensley unit last year. It was killed on Sunday morning.

Ensley hunt should be a muzzleloader hunt. Hunting clubs all around the WMA
