I have lot of bad luck stories I could share.... Man that one monster that I couldn't close the deal.... Well thats hunting..

Stewart County State Forestry several years ago, my brother and I end up going back several miles as the spots we scouted were all covered up with trucks. Found a small pond near the road and a nice trail, so set up my stand there (not sure where my brother ended up)
Several hours later, about an hour before sundown, a ncie little 6 point comes in so I took him. Brother comes over cussing that he hadn't seen anything and we dress him and drag him out of the hole I ws in to the truck.
Amidst the loading up, I realized I lost my cell phone. There's maybe 30 minutes of light left, the ringer's turned off, but I have to try and find it.
As I retrace my steps, my brother realizes we had walked a little ways over on the other side of the road when we first got there so he heads off to look. 5 minutes later, BANG!
Long story short, he nailed an incredible 12 point....and it cost me $300 for a new phone
