Meeeh for me as well, mainly during archery season though. I believe it only takes a very subtle meeeh to get the job done when the deer is within 30 yards. On the other hand, I had to holler at the top of my lungs to stop a buck running a doe during the rut one time. I hollered only after repeated attempts of meeeh and other subtle noises that were ineffective.

I think BSK will agree with me here. A deer is naturally curious to some form of doe or deer sound. I hunt a few fields and at 200 yards I have had deer come right to my stand once I got there attention. A loud grunt or bleep, snort whiz works but the most important thing is not to over call. Once you got the deers attention and he is headed your way stop calling. The biggest problem is that most people over call and give there position away. JMO... Snort Whiz is my favorite call...and it works...
