I am not having much luck here in east Tenn.I am finding some
others like Red, Chestnut ect.but not that many white oaks.

Which could be good for hunting,but this is 2 years in a row up here and I wonder about the health of the heard.
I have found some good persimmon trees which is my favorite
to hunt around.

Most of ours have plenty of acorns. I ran into a TWRA employee @ Catoosa this week who was doing a survey on Oaks, checking the acorn count.

I could be mixed up here but I believe white oaks can/or will skip a year in acorn production where red oaks will produce every year. If this info is incorrect, please forgive me... but I believe that it is right.

Found some yesterday. I think as the month progresses you will start seeing more and more. Usually start dropping at end of Sept. so it may be a little early yet to see em well. If you haven't tried this, take some binocs. with you and look at the top of the trees for some.

I have seen half of a big white oak bear and the other half nothing,
Thomahawk it is the white oak,but they did not have any last year
I have been using 16x Binos,nothing in my white oaks

I kinda like hunting when the white oaks are sparse
