That's most likely what's to blame the trouble I've had getting on deer for the past several seasons. Suckers lay around all day and stay within a very centralized location. They don't have to move unless disturbed. This is especially true once they become pressured.

Darton man
I sure wish I was hunting that area! There are some monsters!
I live within 3 miles of rigsbys but hunt a farm that's down on 63 a few miles from LMU. It doesn't border a big area in the park, pretty small, the biggest border is the tacket creek area on the other side of the mountain.

Got a report from my hunting buddy in Hickman County near Primm Springs. Whites and reds are loaded down. Also sent me some trail pics of some very impressive bucks.
Looks to be a great year, if you can find the preferred trees. I think most know what I'm talking about.

Chaney has literally thousands of oak trees......if most are producing at the same time, deer movement stalls considerably.
I sat in a stand overlooking two oaks dropping one year and watched three does eat/bed down/eat/bed down...etc....all day long......they never left my sight all day.....
no other deer came to the trees either, which told me that these were not the only trees producing in the area....
plenty of acorns are great for herd health, but bad for hunting...IMO.
