Williamson...I've seen bucks brought in to the processor that look like they are from another state. Williamson county land is prime property and difficult to hunt. I've also read somewhere that Williamson has some unique soil in the region. It is more similar to the midwest.
When you say difficult to hunt, do you mean difficult to gain access to hunt?

Yep...the land is a premium since it is either developed or it is already hunted.

From the Tennessee registry, the breakdown for 140+ deer is as follows. (Sorry, i did this a few weeks ago and don't feel like going back to take out those under 150)
Humphreys 49 Fentress 57 Stewart 63 Fayette 65 Montgomery 69 Williamson 75
Every other county has less than 49.

I've see dozens of them every year that nobody will ever see or know about.

You can look at numbers but your best bet is Davidson County. It is highly developed and easy to hunt imo, but all you need is a honey hole. But with that many houses around make sure you have written permission. I used to hunt that county all the time but I just can't stand listening to cars while I'm trying to relax in a stand anymore.

Exactly. Here's a prime example. These 3 deer are all Tennessee deer killed on the same property in which I hunt with my Father in Law. None of these are entered into the books. I know what two of em score because Ruger scored em. Lol

Just on ongoing curiosity of mine:
Why does Henry County place so poorly on this list?
Borders KY. It's a Tennessee River bordering county (like Stewart & Humphreys), with perhaps more rich bottomlands than any named county above?
Supposedly better soil than most counties on this list. More soybeans and cornfields than any county on this list? More bucks taken in past 30 years than any county on this list?
