I know people who have made landowners angry by killing immature deer, especially fawns. I never said meat hunters look down on trophy hunters, I just stated this isn't a trophy hunter friendly site and it is proven each time a thread like this surfaces. But that is ok, not wrong with disagreement.
To be honest,I try not to have em displayed, either way, what good does it do?

i agree. i never intentionally display a buck to the nonhunting public but a lot of folks do. 3 pt on the tailgate, i see it all the time and so do nonhunters.

Personally, I really don't like the term "meat hunter" because that doesn't take in the full spectrum of non-trophy hunters. The hunter I'm most interested is the average guy/gal that gets out hunting a couple of weekends per year, and doesn't have the time/inclination to be a trophy hunter. He/she just wants a chance to be successful and is thrilled with any antlered deer he/she takes. I believe this decription fits the largest single segment of hunters.
Im starting to dislike the term "trophy hunter",for the reasons you stated,Im not just interested in cutting the horns off.Kinda like "assualt weapon".

I think that the TWRA has to be commended. The agency has put out enough liberal bag limits to satisfy the hunters who want to kill 3 or 4+ deer per year and has managed the buck limits that there are enough hunters out there who have become successful at trophy hunting. There are also those who are in between these groups who kill for managment purposes and kill trophy deer.

All parties have gotten a good taste to satisfy their type of hunting and that is the way they want it managed...to satisfy them. If we sit back and look at the big picture we shouldn't bash each other for the way any one hunts as long as it is legal. In comparison to other states, we don't have to kill JUST 1 BUCK and 1 DOE. ALL PARTIES CAN AND SHOULD BE SATISFIED IN TENNESSEE. The limits aren't too liberal and they are not too strict.

I try to kill a few does each year and in turn kill a buck that is 3.5 y.o. or older. Yes, I do end up shooting a 2.5 year old some times but I am tickled to death when I do cause it's a deer I wanted. Let's be thankful for what we have and where we come from cause 10 years ago none of this would be possible.

Bafoons, MOST of them, trophy hunters that is. As for worrying about what the non huntin public thinks about a three point in back of my truck, piss on 'em. If it offends them they need to move back to the city with their own kind. Will not be ashamed of what I kill and don't have any respect for those that do.

lol,...I don't think a nonhunter that is disgusted over a dead deer on a tail gate really cares (or could even tell) if it is 140" 4.5 year old or not...in fact, beyond the fact that its a dead deer period, I doubt that rack size, age or even sex makes to much differance in thier mind...
