YUP. I just watched a man make a 600 yard shot with a 44 mag handgun with open sights freehanded. I was amazed to say the least. It was on the show "Impossible Shots."

He was trying to prove that Elmer Keith really did kill a mule deer at 600 yards.After reading his book"Hell,I Was There"i too believe Ekmer was lieing or at least streatching it a lot.Elmeres book is so unbelievable.No one kid could have done everything he did and live to tell about it.Yes he is the founder of the 44mag and a great shot with it but the book is not to be believed.

I think it was on the Sportsman Channel and it was on about 20 minutes ago. I think the guy who made the shot is noted as being the fastest gunslinger also.

I know where there is a 44 with "Hell I was there" engraved in gold on the bbl. it is one nice revolver,,
and take note,,never bet against somebody that claims they can do something that sounds undoable

Who's got the ballistics calculator. I ran quick numbers on mine, not knowing how to use it, and came up with 600" at 500 yards.

What did he shoot a car?
Anything else would be crazy unbelievable
I did not look at my numbers ,but if 44 is right
He would have had to hold 50 foot over!!!

I have not seen the video,,I wonder if there is something way above his target that he is aiming at to allow for the drop,,there is a trick to most trick shots,,but then again he may be able to to it at will anywhere,
