The same gun and caliber that that I have used in the last 40+
years of deer hunting. Model 70 Winchester with the .270 caliber.

I have had a Redfield Widefield scope on it for the last 36
years, so my rifle and I am about ready for a new scope (ha).

Any suggestions for a new scope?

a 40mm on quality optics allows shooting well past legal light. it has nothing to do with field of view.

30-06 Ruger M77 I would like to try my new Remington R-15, but a little leary due to the .223 round being so small. I might dig it out later and go for some neck shots.

.243 or 30-06

I love bow, muzzleload & rifle season, all for different reasons and different levels of hunting.

Another 308 to add to the list. Youngest will have a 7mm-08 in his hands.
