I have gut shot, or been involved with the recovery of gut shot deer, MANY more times than I care to remember. MANY of these have been in VERY hot weather. I just finished watching a video of a recovery on a gut shot buck that took a second shot after18 hours laying overnight. We ONLY recovered this buck because walked grids for hours the next day. It was about 80 degrees.

The meat will be fine on MOST true gut shot ONLY deer because LIVING meat DOES NOT SPOIL. And MOST trackes don't possess the skills necessary to follow deer not leaving behind a blood trail because it got plugged by fat or tissue.

We have found that the warmer the weather the longer the GUT shot animals tend to live.

Our meat spoilage average loss is less than 1 percent for literally hundreds of kills, several of them "marginal" hits.

In warm weather, like rainy weather, we tend to tighten up on our shot selection alittle.

any man that self processes needs his own walk in cooler.

check out govdeals.com

there is always some Podunk school system trying to auction a large commercial fridge or walk in cooler.
