I have posted this everywhere else may as well put it here also,,when he gets the scope he said he was going to let me work up a load,,300 gr Berger VLD bullets with ballistic coefficient of almost .900 and going 2800 fps the wind should not have quiet as much effect,,I may have to back up across the road ,LOL,,J/K I know that is illegal,,
but seriously I cant wait for him to get the scope and brass in hand,,
stopped by and seen the Old Man for his birthday, and he showed me his bday present..
Sako TRG42 in 338 Lapua Magnum,,27 1/8th inch bbl not counting the muzzle break,Sako claims .5 MOA to 1000 yards with the Lapua 250 gr Scenar factory ammo,,at 6$ a round I doubt it will see much of that,,but heck Lapua brass is 2.50 a piece just for the brass,,anyhow here it is without the scope,he says it is getting a 5.5-22 Nightforce ..

think of it as a 50 cal "lite",,it pretty much has the same ballistics ,not hardly but real close,as the 50 cal but with a 300 gr bullet instead of 750,
supposedly it will shoot 7.5 inch groups at 1500 yards and be able to penetrate 5 sets of body armour at that range,

Sounds like a round made for a notorious rag head hiding out in Pakistan or some place to me.
