Im a home boy. This is the place I know like the back of my hand so within 30 minutes is where I like to stay. I like to know the history of every holler and all that. My farthest drive is the most recent place I bought which is right at 21 miles by road and 30 minute drive time.

I've hynted places with a 2 hour one-way drive, but I wouldn't go that far if I could only hunt an hour; two hours of hunting would be worth it though, if it wads the afternoon. I try to not hunt if I can't spend at least 4 hours after dark taking care of things, in case it's a long tracking job.

For that matter, I don't hunt afternoons at all if I can't come back the next morning. So I very seldom hunt Sundaay afternoons.

Most all my spots are within 45 minutes but when i want to sleep in i just hunt out the front door or back. Very fournate to have 5 stands within a 5 to 10 minute walk from the bed and have a good chance to kill up to 150" at any of them and have... \:D

I obtained my first property in ky this year and that will be about an 2.5 hour drive to Big Springs Ky one way but for all the crops around there and having 600 acres to myself I Plan to burn the interstate up this season...

I drive 1.5 hours to my hunting land. Some days I spend more time driving than hunting but its worth it.

but would you get up early enough to make the drive to hunt it that day and then hit the road back home the same night?...

I was about to drive to the fort last year to hunt one morning and drive home to be at a Christmas party until they closed the area do to unsafe hunting conditions. they had opened one of my favorite bow areas for shot gun and at the last minute decided it wasnt a good idea.
