I was wondering if anyone actually hunts strictly by moon phases and if you do, when do you have your best luck or see the most activity.

I look at the moon charts every day for the best game movement and i hunt with a little extra confidence.
Funny, i usually dont see many deer when it says game movement is poor. I see more when it says game movement is better but not a lot more always....Very interesting.
I go anyway cause you cant kill em on the couch.

I like a full moon when I'm walking to my stand. That way I save
on batteries for my flash light.

If I am going to hunt somewhere during the rut I schedule my trips so I start 3 days before the moon goes full and return 2 days after the full moon. I have never noticed any rise in deer movement during mid day, movement seems to stay the same, the rutting activity always appears to be more though for me around the full moon.

I am going to be in the woods as often as I can when the time is right.....THAT is the best thing to do, no matter what the moon is doing. Weather and TEMPERATURE is the most important thing! Having said that, I seem to see more deer when the moon is really bright (when you can see every shadow of every tree). But I will never not go in the woods because the moon isnt what I like or want. If the timing is right and the temperature is right, you wanna be in the woods. You never know what will happen. I dont and never will "hunt by the moon"

I began reading up on it years ago when a book was published about it and they sold this handheld chart/wheel type thingy....

After some data collecting of my own, I came to the conclusion that the best time for me to go was when I could and when I wanted to.....

I don't care to see a lot of deer. Just the one that I am looking for.......! Don't get me wrong.....I like seeing deer but if I go every day and see lots of deer every time out but never see the one I am looking for, well, I'd rather just go and see that one....!
