I saw a show on snipers about a month ago and I believe it was a Marine sniper took out a walking taliban fighter while he was at that distance, amazing! He was using of course a .50 cal and some super-duper go-go gadget hypersonic round.

Tndeerguy I saw that show too. That record has been beat by a fella shooting a .338.

this article doesn't say anything about the third shot, but in another article I read says he took a third shot to disable the machine gun itself.
