As I have been riding around checking hunting spots and pretty much looking for any deer i can find right now, I have noticed that I am seeing more bucks than I can ever remember. I have seen about 21 deer in the last 3 days and of the 21 deer 14 of those have been 3 points or larger. Some much larger. And not in the traditional bachelor groups. Saw 4 today at 1:30 and 2 had racks and 2 were does, running together. Anyone else noticed this?????/

Yup, at least in Unit A and L counties. Shoot almost as many does as you do bucks for a couple of years in a row and sex ratios balance themselves out.

Would have to agree buck population seems to be steadily increasing. In the last two years the number of buck photos have increased dramatically.

This time of the year...I see way more bucks..than does...i dont know why but around the middle-end of august...the does show up and the bucks vanish....but rite now is the best time to at least see what kind of bucks you have to hunt...because when the rut starts they will move in the daylight again.

It do seem to be so! I also go thru moments in the pre-rut where i see more bucks than does...just before the does go into heat they seem to avoid the bucks but the bucks are up and prowling and just seem to show up more....only in hte last 10 years have i noticed this. maybe the doe numbers areb being caught by the buck numbers now that many folks are passing up and letting walk more adn more smaller bucks.

Trail-cameras users notice the sometimes dramatic differences in male-female ratios in a given location most in summer because deer display their strongest sexual segregation at this time. It's all part of normal behavior characteristics that change with the seasons.
