not sure what the question is but I is happy.

I just hunt til i limit out.
dont kill any unless 8 point or better.
shoud limit out in ealry bow season this year.
and all on public land and all with a bow.
then may go to hunt other state like Bama since only 3 bucks allowed here.
only bow hunt even in gun season and only kill trophy bucks.
plenty good bucks in tn if your a good hunter.

I think most hunters know what it feels like after the alarm goes off to sit on the edge of a bed thinking about the process and the effort it will take to get there. Sometimes a cold pillow and a warm blanket are too much and I fall back, but every time I wake up later with regret. I know that i've never felt anything but good in that moment when i've settled in my stand waiting on the sunrise and any action that might follow.

Consistency is the main reason for any success i've had deer hunting. That means a lot of careful time in the woods, thinking, walking, observing, and planning for the best chance. I agree that any time spent doing such things can only be beneficial provided that a hunter realizes that his/her figurative footprint, or intrusion must be considered as it will certainly affect deer behavior, especially if it becomes too predictible.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but your intital statement is pretty much bunk with today's technology. I would have totally agreed with you 10 years ago, but today, with current trail cameras and now they are affordable for everyone, even the average weekend warrior can pretty much know what's out there and what's not. You just can't kill what doesn't exist. (although sometimes you can't kill what does exist as well \:\) )

no doubt,,having the chance to hunt a tract of land where bigger bucks live doesnt make one hunter any better than the next just because the deer he kills will stretch a tape farther,,I have been caught up in the big buck thing at one time,,and still would love to kill a monster buck,,but after spending thousands of dollars driving back and forth to Ky and hunting where some big deer actually live I have come to the conclusion that I can get the same satisfaction hunting on land I own, than to worry about what a deer scores,,

Agree with trail camera technology. But even with cameras it takes some know how of where to catch that big buck. Not all deer trails are created equal. My main point for this post is simply that "some" hunters on here seem to complain about "quality" and but in turn don't put necessary work in to do so. You can replace "time put in" with many other skill/abilities but the point would still be the same. And by the way no offense taken ;\) You have very valid point.

GREAT POST BOWGUY!
Stand burn out-or scent saturation in an area, is a common problem as to why stands get cold.
