haha i hope not!! from what i gather you buy a permit and then apply online or through the phone to get a spot reserved to hunt? is that how it works?

the fast and simple is you buy a permit. get on the website or call the hunting and fishing unit to see what areas are open for the day you want to hunt. call 2 days before you go hunt and to the auto system and put your ID # in and try your best to get an area. go to the fort before they close the day before you want to hunt and pick up your area assignment. it sounds a lot simpler than it is but well worth the effort.

Don't forget you need a state license and deer permit from ky or tn along with a state approved hunter safety card

I hope that you are a calm person It gets tough sometimes to get an area to hunt. Every year there is some kind of fight because it is so hard. If you are active duty you can get out with hardly any problem. If you are active duty KIll a big one for me! I very seldom get out, But I dont try as hard as I used to.

Yeah I'm hoping we will have alot more areas open this year too! Last year was horrible. We harvested about 1/2 of our 10 yr average. Most of the bucks harvested were yearling bucks. So a good thing is we will have those mature bucks with another year on them. Now I did hear that Palmayra Road and most of Centerline Road might be closed this hunting season so they can repave it. So that's going to make it harder to get around in the training areas.

Mr Bro I'm not sure if they have or not. I'm heading on vacation and I'll find out when I get back or you can call the office. I'm sure the only one that will know is Scott or one of the Game Wardens.
