Is it just me, or do some of you notice that the Deer freak out when the deciduous trees lose most of their leaves every fall during the hunting season.
I get a sence that they feel very naked/exposed, and stay bedded for a wile, or go completly nocturnal for a few weeks.
Game cam guys do you notice enything different around this time?
Also does the week of main leaf drop stay pretty constint year to year in Tn?
Usually just after the start/middle of ML season I recall.

No, but that's probably because peak pre-rut movement occurs in my area at the same time.

Like the dates of peak fall leaf-color, leaf-drop dates can change from year to year as much as 3 weeks, depending upon moisture and temperature.

Once the leaves fall so do they...down the sides of ridges. They do not expose themselves as much and add gun hunting and you have deer that are on high alert and change travel patterns.
