What weather suits you better ?
Bluebird days are great for the hunter, but are these the "best" days to be in the field?
let's hear "personal" testimony about what type weather seems to yield the most deer sightings in your area.
We all know that during the rut activity increases, regardless of the weather, but under more "normal" situations, do you see more deer on cloudy, clear, cool, very cold, calm, windy, warmer, or rainy conditions......
Charts and studies on deer movement are welcome but I'd rather hear from individuals about their experiences afield.....
Studies are GREAT and USEFUL, but talking to hunters one on one makes for an interesting bit of first hand knowledge.
thanks

I see and have killed deer in all types of weather, except when the wind gets over 15-16mph constantly. Seems when the wind gets to that number, they shut down (as well as everything else) and don't move. At that point, I've learned from experience its more productive to go home. Of course, like everyone else, there are days when I go into the woods and the weather seems perfect and don't see anything, even a bird, moving over a period of hours. I'm thinking that has something to do with weather fronts and barometric pressure, but I might be wrong about that.

The problem is, humans "remember" the conditions under which they were successful and forget the conditions under which they were not successful. This skews impressions.

Yep,...that is when the chart and grapholigists ( ) could have the upper hand in predicting deer activity....
When I use to hunt bowaters, the high wind days were some of my most memorable times...the deer would lay in the pines and were fun to try to stalk up on. I have spotted more than one deer hide against the pine needles with my binoculars...

I agree, folks can generally tell you how they did it...not how they didn't!...

Windy days can be fantastic. Instead of walking back to the car to go home, try very slowly stalking. Wind will be your friend in more ways than one. It can certainly be worth the effort.

I like a cold frosty Mid November morning,If I can stand it I stay all day. Things can happen at any time around this time, but the colder the better
Add to that some cloud cover and that's my ideal day, w/ a chance of some precip moving in after dark.
