I am primed 365 days out of the year. There are very few weeks out of the year when I am not preparing for deer season somehow. I love it. But if I was to narrow it down to one thing, it would be the leaves changing in October.

Its also that first clear cool morning about mid october that really gets me going.I'll bow hunt when it still warm but the cooler days really bring on the hunting fever for me.

The first cool/cold snap where you need a jacket to go out, and the leaves changing colors will do it for me. Otherwise, I'd rather be fishing.

A cold snap in late October/early November, falling leaves, frost on the windshield in the morning.
I love it. We are so blessed to be living in these times.
