i was in my climing stand about 20 feet off the ground and after i pulled my gun up i just let the rope hang down on the ground
a little six point chased a doe under my stand and got tangled in the rope
the plastic clip broke off and he went about a hundred feet before the rope got hung in the bushes
it threw him . all four feet went straight up in the air and he came down flat on his back. i thought he had broke his neck but after a minute he rolled over and got up and started staggering around he finally got the rope pulled tight and started pulling backwards and got loose and took off in the direction the doe went but it was just like a dog on a leash in the cartoons

I was bowhunting a few years back close to home when I had a doe and two fawns coming towards me. There was a house cat near by that I don't remember seeing. The doe saw the cat and took off on a dead run towards it. The cat came by me "diggin", I mean wide open ears laid back and wide eyed with the doe right on his butt. The doe ran him out of sight then returned to the fawns shortly. I remember actually laughing out loud while this was goin on as they passed by at about 20 yards.

Last bow season I was sitting in a clear cut that deer were tearing up. Had 4 big hog headed does feeding under all morning. Had a pocket full of acorn in my jacket that I had picked up the day before. Spent about 30 minutes bouncing them off the deer's back. I would one and she would jump and look, then hit another one. Funny thing they would not leave.

Not a deer but,saw a fox squirrel trying to carry a whole ear of corn up a tree,he fell from about 20 feet,never let go of the corn though.

Several yrs ago, had a gray fox curl up to take a nap on a stump 30yds. from my stand. It hadn't been there long when a limb broke off a tree and came crash'n down real close....poor thing jump'd straight up and hit the ground runnin. I laugh ever time I think about it.

A year or two ago I was in my climber about 20' up when 2 grey squirrels ran under me "playing". They went running up a tree that was about 10-15 yards away from me going around and around like squirrels do. The next thing I knew one of them came falling out of the tree as if the other one threw him form about 40' and hit the ground. No sooner than he hit the ground he was running back up the tree to the other squirrel to get some more only to get knocked back out AGAIN!. This actually happened 3 times! On the 3rd fall he actually laid there for a couple minutes and literally WALKED off. I've never seen a squirrel move so slow, but after taking 3 40' falls I guess I would too.

I have seen hundreds of squirrels fall from trees like that. But they all had 22 cal holes in their shoulders. They are tough little rascals. Solid muscle.
