I got to see two small bucks ( a 6 point and a 4 point) fight this year on my grandmother's farm. i was not going to kill them but after the 6 ran off the 4, he walked up to the base of my tree and it had been a dry couple of weeks and my trigger finger got itchy

20 or so 'sparring matches'; another 2 or 3 real 'I'm gonna kill you' buck fights.
All occured in the past 5 or 6 years, a few years after making the decision to pass up younger bucks. None before that decision.

I've only seen some sparring and no i did not shoot one. they were small.
Same for me.....

And bucks don't have to be "equals" to spar:   Good pics BSK and a perfect example of how the pecking order is established well before game time each year. While the sparring is interesting to see, an all out fight between 2 evenly matched mature bucks will make a dead man get excited!
