The only thing one could argue that wasn't entirely fair when the expanding PP system was put in place was that it wasn't announced until the year after some had accumulated PP's. In other words, if you never put in for PI because you didn't think you ever had a chance, then decided to start putting in after the expanding PP's were established, then you were already 1 PP behind those who had applied the year prior.

Maybe by the time I'm eligible, they'll have a weekend gun hunt.
BGG, has there been any discussion on weapon of choice for the Dec hunt or auctioning off a couple tags. Good way to make some money for the state. Could bring in some big bucks, which that money could be used to develop other wma's similar to PI.

Its being done as fair as it can be. Volsnhunting, you've put in for the last four years, and have gotta four points built up, others have put in for the last five years, and have five points. Its very simple. It wouldn't be fair to change the rules once the game has started. TWRA is doing a great job on the way this hunt is being managed, it seems to be working very well. It gives everyone a chance at one day being drawn.

I put again this year for the doe hunt, didn't get drawn last year for it so hopefully this year I will. I know it sounds weird to most but I'm from Unit B and any chances for meat hunting is fine with me. I'm on a hunting lease in Hickman Co. and hope to make a week trip out of it. Something else to add, I started hunting SW Ohio(public land) 3 years ago and let me tell you all there is some excellent big buck hunting in that state during the bow season. I have seen some good uns, IMO only Ohio is the next best secret for public land bowhunting.

Um, tickweed you obviously have not read this thread since my point IS not about ME. Its about the people below my current 4 points. I'm saying the numbers are not accurate that it will only take 12 years to get a tag at zero points. Also, my other point was I disagree that only people with max points are eligible for the draw. That's it

Wes, you also make some good points btw.

Seriously, that doesn't seem to fair to all the people that have just a few points built up. Can you not set aside 5 tags or so and draw from the lower points bracket. Just so there is a chance. Thanks

Sorry, maybe I misread your post. Seems like you said it above. How can you possibly disagree that only the people with max points will be drawn this year? There are 80 permits to be drawn, 300 + people with max points. How much more simply can it be? Doesn't matter, wasn't trying to argue.

I spend my time looking for "points" in other places than PI. No
doubt it is a good place for a "trophy" buck, but it seems like
many hunters rely and spend all their hopes on getting "drawn".

I don't like the politics of that kind of process, but that is
just me. Many might say that it's not politics, but just think
about it for a few moments.

I just put in and forget about it,If I get drawn I get drawn,if not,I dont usually even remember till I see a thread on here.I look at it like this,it would be fun to hunt PI,but I have a good time wherever I go,not getting drawn is not stopping me from doing any hunting anywhere else.
