For the first time, I put out a corn feeder and a camera last thursday June 24th. The feeder that I put out held about 1/2 of the 50lb bag of corn that I bought. I checked the camera before i left to make sure it was working and it was. My question is how often would you check the camera. Someone told me that the feeder would need to be refilled in about 8-10 days.
Is that ok to be going in and out every 8-10 days or will i disturb the deer.
Also...would you recommend a mineral lick at the same site.

Best to wait for rain and then sneek in just before the first drops.That way it will wash your scent away quickly.

Min two weeks on the camera. I would recomend the mineral block by itself too, as it lasts longer for a longer set for the cam. Good luck!

I would get rid of the feeder and just put some salt out right now. I check my cams about once a month.

Yeah get rid of the corn, too many potential health risk for the deer and whatever else that might eat it,just go with the salt and wait at least a week before checking it.

Hey guys ...Thanks for the advice
Whitetail Junkie...will you elaborate a little more on removing the feeder because of health risks ???
Im "green as a gourd" as they say, so any advice is much appreciated

yeah,Id ditch the corn as others have stated..And i like to check my cameras at about 3 to 4 weeks,sometimes longer,but no sooner thand 3 weeks..Deer are hammering the salt in my area right now..

I would get rid of rthe corn too.Unless you plan on hunting over bait its not gonna help you figure out the deer.It might let you know what deer are in the area but I would rather put camera out and see how the deer move normally without drawing them in with corn.I think that will help more.

have been feeding corn in summer and fall before deer season for 10 years. When deer find it they will come back as soon as you leave after you put out more corn. Try and see.
