I really hope that we have a pronounced increase in daytime rutting action this year! The last two years have sucked! I know all aspects of the rut still take place, but its worthless if its all happening at 2:00 am due to 75 degree temps! I am hoping for cold weather for the whole month of November, so we can actually see the fully mature bucks up participating during legal shooting light!

The rut is weird. Best one i have observed in a long time was last year. Only reason i noticed was because twra added the week to muzzleloader and i took off that second week and it was great. After that though here you could basically hang it up for mature deer movement during the day.

Last year was one of the worst ruts we've had. That 80-degree weather that hit right during our normal peak absolutely killed daylight movement.

It would be great to get a cold snap this Nov. I saw limited daytime movement last year too.
