Seems like most guys on here are against most everything thats not commoun to TN,and I guess thats normal, but if you grew up in SC like I did,dog hunting may not seem so strange or calling people who take a shot at a running deer un ethical.Im thinking about some men right now who are about as far from "un ethical" as you can get.
Likewise, sitting in a shooting house on a sendaro may not seem so strange,or "wrong" if you grew up in south Texas.
I have no want to to kill 30 deer a year like DA does, but I dont care if he does.
Anyway,I guess people like things the way they are use to,doesnt mean other ways are wrong, just food for thought.

Yessir, many here have the my way or the highway attitude. You will see it occasionally, and there are a few your not allowed to prove wrong, or you'll get a spankin. All in all however its a pretty good forum, and passes a lot of time when theres nothing else to do. Lots of useful info on here from time to time as well.

FH what part of SC are you from. I grew up in Charleston until moving to AL in high school. We belonged to a club outside Walterboro. I love all this talk about dog hunting. Brings back a lot of memories. I can remember thinking what is the sport of shooting a deer with a rifle at 200 yards while its eating. Seemed kind of easy compared to shooting a running deer through a swamp. However that was before I tried still hunting. Now I bowhunt 95% of the time. That's the great thing about this sport there is more than one way to skin a deer and all have fun doing it.

I agree with you 100%. I grew up in VA. Never got to dog hunt and saw some things that turned me off to it, but if I had the chance I would give it a go. It seemed like it would be a blast.

I'm like you, hunt em with a Ferret if you want to. Just don't tell me how I'm supposed to hunt. Good post.

Yep, diversity in hunting is ok....but it is illegal here in Tennessee to dog hunt deer and the guys who i know did it shot everything in their path....ask Tom Pyrdum.

I grew up in Lexington, hunted mostly in Orangeburg and Aiken counties I guess, but all over, had friends from Walterboro, even Hollywood

I wouldnt mind loading up some 00 buck and getting ahead of few dogs. I remember in Mississippi i would be running out of my stand when I heard some dogs coming. It would get my heart pumping. That was on a lease and i didnt mind. I personally wouldnt want dogs on my private property.
The only problem with dog hunters when I hunted in MS was that you cant keep dogs from crossing property lines.
