if you dont have internet, checkstation first thing in the morning. Where is the issue? Under the proposed new law, would be illegal to check in your harvest first thing in the morning.

As it was for decades, until just a few years ago. Common sense goes a long way, especially when used on both the hunters and TWRA's sides.

Common sense goes a long way, especially when used on both the hunters and TWRA's sides. they are not going to give you a ticket for a deer legaly harvested that you didnt find until the checkstations were closed,as long as you dont hunt again until that deer has been checked in the following morning.that is the way it has been as long as i have been alive!! Unless it changed the buck limit is one a day. If you kill late today and don't get to check it until the next morning you will not be able to legally take another buck the day you check the first one.
Is this an accurate appraisal of the situation?

All I know is if I'm searching for a deer until the wee hours of the morning, I'm calling the county officer to let him know what I'm doing. I don't think this situation happens all too often.

Did that very thing two years ago BGG. Called the hotline and Tim called me and it's 11pm or so and told me good luck and thanks for letting him know what we were doing. I had sent a buddy to get one of my beagles in hopes he would forget those shock collar treatments for a little while. He didn't. lol
There is also the problem with cell service in some areas of TN.
Now, BGG, my question is this. Let's say you shoot a deer late and find it late at night when everything is closed. Is it legal to take it to the check station the next morning and check it in for the day before?
Not a big deal for me and everyone on this site, I have good internet service but there are folks that don't and I imagine dial-up isn't very friendly trying to check one in. Lots of folks in rural areas don't even have a computer.
No doubt this is one of those "darn if you do, darned if you don't" kind of things. Probably is so rare it shouldn't be an issue.

About time they stopped that "wild boar" crap. That's a term used by those who are not from this country.

Hogs with dogs! That is one great decision! Flippin things are overtaking parts of our county. Be alot of folks glad to hear that they wont have to hide from the GW anymore, at least during those dates.

Well that is not the case now. Technicley now if you try and check it in after mid-night that day then you have broke the law. Now it will probably be up to the local warden as to how he wants to approach it. He can be a jerk and write you up or use a little common sense and find out the circumstances behind the delay and let it ride. Will be interesting to see how this works out. I have killed deer late and almost 10-oclock at night getting them out and there is no phone or internet service at the cabin so would have to ride a good 30 miles to check it in and then doubt if one would be open that late. Personally I think it is a bad regulation.

Why in God's name would you want to drop to a 2 Buck limit? "In Gods name"?

Sounds good but still wishing for a 2 buck limit JMO Why?
IMO I think we should have a 2 buck limit any weapon,a doe tag that replaces the 3rd buck tag and that doe tag would be included in a gun permit.
