I'm interested in joining a good hunting club but I'm not sure how to find out about them. With not being from TN or knowing someone in a club I don't think I can figure it out. Does anyone know of any with openings or any pointers to help me out? I'm looking for a place to deer and turkey hunt.
Thanks

There is a thread on this page at the bottom, but that club is in Wayne county. Also try Craigslist.

Honestly IMO unless you find a place to lease with guys you know its almost better to just hunt public land, heck usually you are the only one there!

There is so much public land within an hour to hour and a half drive from Knoxville that you do not need to join a hunting club.
Chuck Swan Catoosa Royal Blue Cherokee Mt. Roosevelt Foothills Norris Watershed Oak Ridge
Put in for draw hunts for Chuck Swan, Oak Ridge, and Catoosa. Hunt Royal Blue during the open season. Hunt hard and often and you should have no problem killing a few deer!

There are many more smaller areas to hunt as well. Get a hunting guide and study it carefully. It will reveal many places that are open to the public.
If you ask enough private landowners, eventually someone will let you hunt. Even if they only have a few acres you can still kill deer.

Thanks everyone!! That's my problem though! I need a hunting guide I've always wanted to learn from someone that does the studying and put in the time and effort to connect. I do put out a lot of time but I don't connect very much. When I first moved here I hunted royal blue a good bit and was able to connect one time on a doe. Just never saw any bucks. I want to learn from someone that knows what their doing because I sure feel like I don't after the luck I've had!

I have put in for oak ridge the past 3 years. I hunted poplar creek. 1st year I saw a buck while walking in for my evening hunt, nothing the 2nd year, and last year I shot at a doe and she jumped the string. It's some rough hunting there!
