Was in Nashville this year at the NWTF deal, and stopped by the Kentucky Fish & wildlife booth. One of the guys working it asked me to put in for the elk lottery, just a ten dollar donation. Had forgot all about it, then remembered it today. Went online, and couldnt believe it. I had drawn a cow tag for the first hunt. I've hunted Colorado a bunch of years, and have took several nice bulls, but Its still kinda neat this close to home. A big cow sure sure would eat good. Guess I will go ahead and send my money in, they have a high success rate on all of their tags. Anybody else put in by chance?

Yea, talked to the Ky. fish/wildlife this morning, he told me they had almost 55,000 people put in, with a total of 800 permits, only 10 perecent, or 80 tags for non-residents. Also ,he said that I would be able to bow hunt during the Elk bow season, and if I still had'nt filled my cow tag, I could gun hunt the first gun season. Man, what luck. It will be a lot of fun. Wish all could get drawn, but maybe next year. I'll for sure keep everyone posted. It sure beats driving 1400 miles one way! Just thinking, I've got top preference points for Presidents island this fall. Oh well, no need to be greedy.
