I got me 2 hang on stands after deer season closed, never have used a hang on stand before or hung one for that matter so I have a question or 2..Are they able to be hung with just 1 person? If so, how hard is it? They came with 20ft tree sticks..I was thinking of ordering 1 more set of sticks (20ft) and making my 2 other stick sets taller like 25 to 30ft..The 1 tree I plan to hang 1 in,definatly needs to be about 25ft because of lack of background cover...Is anything over 20ft too high for a hang on stand?

Hang-ons can be done with one person, but its much easier with two, the way we do it anyhow. I have some 30-35 foot with no problems out of them!

Safety harness with a climbing belt will help. Only used my hang-on for one year before getting a climber. Found it much easier to climb higher than I was going to hang the stand, put in a screw-in step and 2-3' above where I wanted the seat and then us the step as a pulley to pull up the stand. Once I got it where I wanted it, tie off the rope (2nd screw in step for tie off) and then secure the stand.

I always hang mine myself...Practice doing it closer to the ground till you get the hang of it...it is a little awkward cause at some point you don't have either hand holding onto the tree...It is probably alot easier with the sticks I don't know. I use the strap on steps and I have to grip the tree with my knees while wrapping the chain ... I just use 8 steps tho, that doesn't get me to high..I don't need no higher!..

another consideration is learning the position to start your sticks or steps in relation to the way you want your stand faceing...its not a big deal but it does matter...

Love them for bow hunting! they are pretty easy to set up once you get the hang of it! I have found that if you climb up your sticks and put a tree peg in right above where you are going to hang the stand you can tie a rope to the stand and run it over the peg and hoist it up with the rope. when you get the stand where you want it you can tie the rope to a footpeg so the stand will be hanging there and you will not have to try and hold it with one hand while trying to strap it on!

The 1 stand is gonna be 100% bow and the other is gonna be both, but mostly bow..I can use my climber on the one tree I want to put one in,but I like the luxury of having the stand already there,as to all I have to do is walk in and climb up..LOL.>Call me lazy I kno..
