Very curious but mostly at night. many nights they get up on my patio and lick the grill. they ate all the shrubery at my house, I would moon/flash them, a real ugly site, it made no difference, It will sooner or later make a person understand that we are sitting in a tree and waiting on a real dumb animal, lmrfao
funny how your scent is ignored at your house, but not in the woods.......
deer are very intriguing creatures, that's for sure.

I shot 11 deer my first year hunting unit L 2005 i believe. I was chewing Red Man in the green pouch that whole season. Quit the stuff that following summer and my numbers went down drasticly. 5 a year average after that first year.

Ever see a squirrel run a deer away from a oak tree......?
best video I didn't get.......
BH I saw a button buck and a squirrel chase each other all over a ridge one morning, they were having a big time! I have watched deer do a lot of funny things over the years! I watched 2 does eating some type green plant growing under the water on Norris lake one afternoon, they had to literally submerge their entire head to get to them, probably 12 inch deep water. I have spit on their heads and backs many many times from my stand, and had other deer actually lick the spit from each other.

I've noticed the sound of stuff falling hitting the ground makes them Curious. Couldn't tell how many times I've had a deer come back and Smell an arrow after a missed shot. Thought of carrying rocks with me In my pack to drop to lure a deer into range.

Have seen deer eat some underwater plant on the Caney several times. Once when I was working on a ranch in Texas, we had a doe come in every evening and jump in the horse's water tank.

Yup, thats an old trick. They think its acorns falling. Find a year where there isnt a good acorn crop or just later in the winter....Drop some rocks and all they hear it as is a "dinner bell"
