When I wrote the "Caney Fork Blues" I never heard of a single person playing it when they went fishing. Come to think of it, I never heard of a single person playing it...period. But it got requested around the campfire a lot. It was a standard at Center Hill. Another favorite was "Long Rope, No Hope and a Woman I Can't Stand." Never made any money off that one, either. Porter was going to record it but he never did.
