B. without a shadow of a doubt! Although with 200acres everybody else around you is going to benefit from YOUR HARD WORK and YOUR MONEY! You would get kicked off that lease the first year! Good question. Id say B but that's because I enjoy that type of hunting. I will say that the personalities of the guys on the lease would be important to me. Ive seen people that take deer hunting so seriously they cant enjoy it.
Who is going to kick me off the other guy that is managing it with me? I was making a point that on 200acres most of your management is going to benefit the surrounding properties as well. And if you have some brown and downers around you, you mine as well not even give it a try!

Either........my reasoning is that with only 200 acres to hunt, what the guys did before you won't matter near as much as what the surrounding people did......obviously, you will be surrounded by other hunters so letting mature deer walk is no guarantee the guys around you will.
Every mature deer that you let walk may not make it another day when other hunters in your area don't manage the same way.

A OR B. The deer will move back in, even if they are killed like crazy, deer sightings will be a little slower but there will always be a decent buck show up during the rut. Thats my opinion, seems that way every year round my neck of the woods.

until 15 years ago, I too hunted 200-250 acre tracts. Still today, I do hunt small tracts, some less than 100 acres. I do hunt Chaney as well that is 2600 acres. I hunt them all the same way.....if I want to kill the deer I kill it. If I do not, I let it go, regardless of size.......If a deer comes by me that is not what I think is a shooter, I won't shoot regardless what MAY happen to it when it leaves my sight.
I can't control what other people shoot, that's a fact. One other thing that IS fact.......if I don't let it walk, it won't make it to next year regardless of what my neighbor does. It may get shot that same day or soon......OR.....it may NOT go by the neighbors when they are hunting and thusly make it to next season.
Basically, I worry about my area and make choices based on my goals.......nothing else matters to me simply because I can't control it.
now if I could vote for a size limit statewide, I would.......
I know what it's like to watch a deer walk past you and get shot as soon as they cross the line......

I know what it's like to watch a deer walk past you and get shot as soon as they cross the line...... BH i agree 100% i used to get ticked off when i let one walk and the guy across the fence shot it and i would often think why am i letting them go it doesn't do me any good but after a few seasons i began to realize that if i killed it then it would have no chance and the other guy was only killing 2 young bucks a year on avg. so he was not hurting me as much as i thought since i was letting several more than that walk every year but that was years ago and i was not being very mature about it
if there were more hunters besides just him at that time then it might have been a different story if they also were killing as many as he was
all i was saying is that if you took 2 properties equal in size and 1 has been hunted to death and the other has had very little pressure most hunters would want to hunt the one that has had less pressure but they would get on here and argue that lesser limits don't help and that to me is being 2 faced
that is just the way i feel but it doesn't mean i'm right it's JMO

A. for me its not Big bucks or nothing. I just like to hunt and then shoot what I feel like shooting. Some days I am looking for big bucks. other days its what ever I feel like. I bow hunt only so I look at every deer as a trophy. I just like the freedom the State of TN gives us for each person to make their own decisions on what is worth shooting.

Either, since I primarily hunt public land.
