Is it too early to see antlers beginning to grow for the 2010-11 year!?
The deer I seen had maybe 2-3 inch, but covered with hair... like a "hi-rise" button buck?
The body on the deer was big... looked at least 2 y/o but maybe a 3 y/o???

Got a pic couple weeks BK of one of the deer I have on can from last year that had spikes beginning to grow spikes

Some bucks will start growing in late March while others don't start until late April, but I would say early April is the average.

Strange thing is we saw a nice 8pt last weekend with a full rack still. That is the ONLY rack I have seen on anything. We have been looking for new antlers and can't tell anything yet.

I saw a huge deer on the back of my place two weeks ago, still with attached gear.

That's a very good sign. Healthy bucks hold their antlers longer than unhealthy bucks.
