Deer herd & landscape......

After having anywhere from 1' - 2' of snow on the ground for a period of about 3 months this winter the deer have decimated every living plant that is remotely what I would consider a evergreen at our house.
Examples: Yucca plants, I cannot recall a winter when these were ever touched by deer before. The tips on every yucca around our place have been nipped and now instead of coming to a point they have something like strings hanging out of every blade.
Cypress\cedars, we have about 20 or so of some form of these on a bank behind our house. Every one of them has a 2-3' section in the middle that has been eaten down to the trunk{they now resemble a rich persons poodle standing upright}.
White pines, planted about 30 of these late last summer as a border, they now resemble twigs sticking up out of the ground.
It makes me wonder what the mortality rate was\is this year?

Ill bet it wasnt very high,deer will find a way to survive

I don't think mortality is the big issue. The big issue will be how that lack of nutrition for several months affects future growth and development.
