What is a big buck.... Is it how much it weights, How big the rack, or how old it might be.... I have seen all three of these things used when hunters want to talk about the big bucks they are chasing. The interesting thing is that not all three always adds up to the same....
Examples... I once had a buddy that killed an 8 point the same year I did... Both were 3.5 years old and was killed in E. TN. His rack was bigger but my deer out weight his by 70 lbs (field dressed) (83 lbs vs 150 lbs)... I have killed 3.5 year old bucks that were smaller (rack) compared to some 2.5 year old bucks that I have seen. Its funny we want to try and debate one single element that would make monster bucks but there is not one.... Too many factors play apart....JMO

Those days have been replaced with "My buck would be bigger than yours if my neighbors would stop shooting young deer" lol People are gonna blame someone when they are unsuccessful in harvesting a big buck..But they won't take credit themselves when they are unsuccessful at it.
Hey, I'm the first to admit it's my fault if I don't kill a mature buck each year. I've certainly got them in my area, so if I can't kill one each year, it's due to my lack of hunting skills.

gnb...a big buck is a buck that has a big rack and a big body...mostly, a big rack...definitely
