bought my first pair of snake boots last year after 50 yrs and I am so glad that I got them. I feel so much better now when I go to the woods.

Seen my first snake of the year today. A 4 foot Chicken Snake while cutting the grass on our farm in Mt. Juliet. I had to stop mowing and wait for him to crawl off. We have quite a few of them over there. They keep the mice out of my shop.

had a few encounters over the years. very few venomous snakes although i am sure i have been near a few i didn't see. please don't kill the snakes unless it is a venomous snake somewhere that it would be a threat. one of dads best friends is a logger and he said that he was loading logs on to a truck and when he got to the bottom of the pile he saw a black snake with a copperhead about halfway down it's throat, it was eating the copperhead so you have a good point about not killing one they do benefit us to leave them alone has anyone else heard of this king snakes often prey on other snakes including vemonous snakes. most king snakes i can catch are released here around the house for that reason.
