you can't put pen raised quail in the same boat as those 200" deer. You can go anywhere and shoot a deer, yeah maybe not a 200" deer but you CAN shoot a deer dam near bout anywhere. THere are few places left in the country that you could go shoot wild quail.
I will be the first to admit, that after you've shot wild birds, pen raised birds are like shooting beach balls, but to compare that to these canned deer hunts is just not the same. JMO.

There is no sport in killing a caged animal. These types of hunts give hunters a bad name when seen by the general public. There are many people that think that killing (because this is not hunting) a deer, hog, sheep or other big game animal is always this easy and that hunters are only interested in killing.
I too believe this should be illegal and have no respect for anyone that presents an animal killed this way as a "Trophy".

Just because something is legal doesn't make it right. How is shooting a pen-raised deer different from shooting a pet dog? I believe you'd probably go to jail if you raised dogs and charged people to shoot 'em. Don't know that for a fact though.
You can argue that deer are like livestock and can be harvested in whatever way you choose. You could also argue that they are pets and should be protected from harm like cats and dogs. Or, you could argue that they are wildlife and shouldn't be treated like livestock or pets.

ethics and morals are different from laws.
Sadly, some people will kill animals by unethical and even unlawful means and brag about their skills as a hunter and claim that anyone that comments negatively are simply jealous.........
The sad thing is that people that condone this behavior are doing much more harm than good....and are friends for all the wrong reasons.

I posted an article on my website last week about a place called World Class Whitetails of Ohio. Check out this comment I got from a reader. How can something like this be legal?
