bowhunterfanatic- I would do it tomorrow again, without hesitation. I would rather the kid get a stern reality check, then a slap on the wrist. Same thing plagues our youths now, no one fails or gets whipped, they just get a slap on the hand or a passing grade. Total BS, life is cruel, especially when you don't follow the law.

Westtnhuntinman- What is wrong with setting a firm example which won't soon be forgotten? You all for slaps on the wrist for poachers as well?

T32MD- I prefer the plywood with nails driven through buried in the dirt. It works well. Had some punks several years ago using my place as a moto track. Great thing about 4 flat tires, is that they get to come retrieve their ATV's from the police office that lives down the street. It is easy for me to winch them right up on a trailer and drop them off at his house.

Maybe you all that don't own a piece of hunting ground aren't getting the picture. It pays to be firm, but be nice when someone comes and asks.

I agree with much of that. Too many kids get a free pass, a slap on the wrist, but you also were breaking the law sir. If you would have just gone a-wall on the dad, I could definitely understand, but I doubt the kid knew he was doing wrong. His dad probably told him it was ok to be there.

I also own some seperate pieces of hunting property. I have witnessed a couple poaching acts that I still have trouble believing I saw. Granted, I'm still pretty young, and was by myself, but I didn't go crazy on the guys. I made sure they knew I was serious though, and haven't had any trouble from them since.
