Well boys I am outta here, I am moving my family back home to Kansas, with the birth of our daughter it made us realize how far away we are from our family. So not just going home for the bucks but is a nice byproduct. I’ve got to say I’ve enjoyed hunting in TN, I love the big timber, the hills and there are a lot of deer in TN. I hope the limit debate gets ironed out and everyone is happy, and all of you have a good season “lotsa big bucks down”. I’ll pop in every once in a while, and if anyone finds there way around Bourbon County look me up, we’ll break out the bottle and tell some lies \:\)

Oh I stick around if you all will let me, and actually speaking about Kansas and a topic that comes up on this forum quite a bit. A friend of mine back home introduced me to guy that had moved to Fort Scott about a year ago, hired as the area biologist, I was really interested in picking his brain about different things, you know talking about TN and KS and his thoughts on limits, mature animals ect, ect. One thing that stuck with me was his theory that the quality of bucks has been diminishing, me asking why he thought that, he blamed it on the # of out of state hunters coming in, now my rebuttal was KS has a set # of tags for out of state, and it is a draw. There is no check system currently so the dept must have to assume every tag that is sold is filled, nothing has changed that I know of with the # of tags sold, they actually made it more restrictive with farm tags, we never did it, but I had a friend whose father would sell farm tags to whom ever and making a killing every year until they axed that. I am just not seeing it, I didn’t get to go back home last season, my daughter was born 11/5, (didn’t think that one out very well) but with the game cam pics that we got on the farm, I can’t see it. Anyway he seems to think that it has a lot to do with more adolescent buck being killed more specific under 3.5, I don’t really agree with him that is a huge factor, but there too KS imo doesn’t have the # of deer like TN in comparison to area, but just wanted to let you all know this debate crosses states lines, and KS is a one buck state. Oh and please take all this as statement, I am not trying to start that type of topic

Fair enough, the boys from Buck Commander hunt down the road from our property on Adam Laroche's honey hole of a ranch
