Use tree sticks instead of steps, someone will tell you there is,but there is no loc on as comfortable as a summit climber.

been using loc-ons and climbing sticks for years and love them.
The best part about them is the ability to get ABOVE lower limbs . With climbers, you have to cut off every limbs beneath you and to me, that just exposes you even more.....
many good climbing sticks out there. I like the Gorilla brand stands because are tough and relatively low in price.....
I recommend getting climbing sticks that have the enclosed steps and/or the steps angled upward to prevent slipping off one of the steps when they are wet...
good luck

Use tree sticks instead of steps, someone will tell you there is,but there is no loc on as comfortable as a summit climber. Try a Millenium loc on if its comfort you want, summit isnt even close IMO!

steps or sticks?..I guess it would depend some what on your hunting style... I build my own alum loc ons...and I will be the first to admit that I don,t build them for comfort. They just as wide as my shoulders and weigh about 9lbs. They are made to carry easily and quietly.. I use the ameri-step brand strap on, they are a molded poly steps...They are easy to set and secure when you get em on..I get leary of anything plastic tho when it gets in the single digit cold so I have the same thing in aluminum to use then.. I have several sholder strap sacks that have 8 steps each in them, 8 is all I ever use. It takes a little practice with them to learn what height and direction the first step needs to be in relation to your desired stand position or which side you are more comfortable stepping of on the stand from the top step, the distance between the steps etc. I always start my first at 90% from my desired stand direction for my right foot first.....
I can carry my step sholder bag and stand on my back dang near all day and still be able to quietly slip hunt with gun or bow thru fairly dense cover if I decide or don't find a location I want to hang it...
ALWAYS USE A SAFTEY HARNESS

Good post by BH. I use the 20' ladders for most of my stands on my land to get me up to them.
For public land I have a lone wolf hang on and their verision of quick sticks that strap on the tree. I can attest to their safety and ease of use for going in putting up a stand, hunting and pulling it down.
Comfort like a climber, their might be some that are close. Id say the millinium stands look nice and some other roomy full seat styles but mine are just a pad and platform and I can hunt that for 4-6 hours easy.
