Been over a year since anything new has been posted.
Even so but why does it have to be something new? Every day a new hunter comes along and wants to ask a question that we have hashed out a hundred times. to them it has never been asked. Biggest problem is we have no time for new hunters.
A year or so ago you said you were done with the general forum. Why then would we want to put the serious forum and the general forum together?

Very few want to talk about whitetail hunting on the first days of spring. I enjoy reading and posting on all the forums but, it was the serious deer hunting forum that brought me here and that will keep me coming back.
Good point Rich. I like reading things that new members post too. Each new member brings something different to the table. Never know when or who You will learn something from.

I'd love to have your granny's muscadine jelly recipe and I'm surprised to hear that someone finally came out of the closet but those topics don't belong in here.
That reminds me of the time Ruger left his account active at the "Not the 'Vue" event. Wow, others really brought him out of the closet that night!

I can't say that I understand where this thread is going, but in my opinion, the Serious Deer Hunting Forum on TnDeer is far from pitiful. I scan a lot of state-level and national forums on the web. I will say without a moment's hesitation that this forum is by far the most active, the most informative, and has the largest group of knowledgeable hunters anywhere. We should be proud of that.
I, for one, hope we can keep this forum positive and focused on meaningful discussion that will help us all become better deer hunters.

Its always cyclic, ups and downs. I will agree however that nobody cares to know how many tame tukeys are in your yard on the serious DEER forum, or why you chose your screen name, etc.

QDMA sucks No such thing as soil vs big racked bucks I only shoot for meat I only shoot for trophies Baiting is for lazy hunters Baiting gives me a chance in an area where deer population is low Mitch Rompola is a farce M.R. is the ultimate hunter
Let's see, what else....maybe we just need an agenda? I'm in favor of the serious forum for no other reason than Bowriter isn't!

I don't know that we need a serious forum. In fact, I have always wondered that. Why is it important to be serious? Life is too short to be serious all the time.
We have a QDM forum and a potitical forum and a cooking forum (best forum on the site) so why can't these serious threads be posted on the general forum and just do away with this one? Been over a year since anything new has been posted. some people dont care about "whats for lunch",hoping there will be something interesting in the serious forum from time to time,like....how many turkeys are in your driveway
