I reckon most of the antlers I have gotten off bucks that I killed are either layin in various piles or boxes, cut up, or gave away... heck, some of the best and most memorable hunts/kills I have ever made didn't even have antlers on em. There are a couple hunts that I killed a slick head or three on that I wouldn't trade for my biggest buck. And when I get to where I can't remember those then I doubt that any of the ones I've got on the wall are gonna mean much either...
Here is a pic of the the last buck I decided to kill four seasons ago now. A guy that should know aged it at 4.5 but I don't think it is. I just did walk out and take this pic, The angle is not the best to show the tine length...... I could have killed 25 or better since then but just haven't felt the need to for one reason or another, and some of them probably had larger racks than this one. I know for a fact that two did... I tossed this head on the lumber stack when I cut it off of it the day I feild dressed it. I figured the coyotes would have drug it off by now. I reckon they didn't need it on their wall any more than I did on mine ...

I know that many on here may not agree or understand, but I have lived long enough, by the grace of GOD, to realize that there much bigger trophys in life than dead deer....jmo

I hope that when I am long gone, my boy will be able to pick up an antler and re-live the time spent together afield. My wife doesn't quite understand that though. That is why all of my antlers are in the garage! LOL! That's why you need a hunting room or hunting cabin! We European mount every head that does not get shoulder-mounted. Although we are starting to run out of space even for the European mounts. But you're right. Looking at each head brings back all of the memories of that hunt and that day. And that's why we keep and display them all.
Thats a cool room right there.....

I forgot my wife's birthday a few years ago (this will only happen ONCE) and dad came over that evening and asked when deer season open just to get me in deeper than I already was and I took it hook, line, and sinker. I said the last saturday in september, I should have said I don't know. Then my wife said you can remember when deer season opens but can't remember my BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Have never been able to live that down.

Bring the deer mounts back inside and put the wife outside in the garage. I seriously dated a girl for a while and her dad hunted as well, but he couldn't get any deer mounted in the house because they didn't like it. I sure am glad we broke up.
I considered that too Right Tackle!!!!
