I find myself a little hesitant to step out of my comfort zone...even within my inlaws' farm. There are two stands that I hunt from the most. Dunno why, I always seems to gravitate towards them.
This year I will try hunting different stands..and maybe some other public lands just for something different.

Nothing like old reliable but a new scene will always make a hunt exciting and new.... You never know.. Thats what hunting is all about... I can read all this perfect stuff on hunting but I have read several stories of guys killing MONTERS while on their cell phones (playing with the can or calling dad) and kiling state records... A 44 point and 28 point was killed in TN while guys were on their cell phones...

I can honestly say I dont have this problem. I do rotate by season and I do have areas of my land that I save until prime time, but my land is almost two hours away. I hunt a lot on pubic land on around Louisville and Ft. Knox. This combined with a GPS has lead me to having a lot of different spots marked.
I bounce around a lot. I have honed my equipment to let me get in pretty much any tree I find and I stay on deer the majority of the season...now finding a shooter and closing the deal thats always the gamble.

I used to have a spot that I could kill just about anytime during the season, UNTIL my neighbor started hunting the spot and I guess he and my cousin worked out a deal for him to hunt it. So if you ever have a spot like that don't tell NOBODY AND I MEAN NOBODY where that spot is. Young and dumb i guess. Lifes toughest leasons are learned and not taught.

I rarely hunt the exact stand location every year.......I may move a stand 50 yards or less, but I always move every stand a little bit anyway.....
I find that it gives me a different view of the area and often times leaves me with a feeling that I did something productive to begin the season.

I guess this is another situation of "to each, their own." I like having one place to manage and hunt. I never seem to run out of "new" places to hunt. But then the deer kind of force that. As soon as you find a "hot spot" the deer react by going somewhere else, which forces you to constantly look for new stand locations.

i enjoy 'setting up" about as much as hunting, so I really like moving around and changing things.....all part of it, IMO.
