First off, I'd like to point out what a unique community we have here on TnDeer. Out of curiosity, I have looked at several other forums, both state-level and national, and I have not seen one that even comes close to the level of activity and meaningful conversation that we have here. We should all be proud.

Since we all spend a lot of time talking with one another, I thought it would be an interesting way to get to know our "neighbors" better if we talked about how we each came up with that most visible of on-line features, our screen names. There are some really interesting ones that I always wonder about when I see them. I'd love to hear the story...

I'll start off. Unfortunately, mine isn't funny or ironic. It comes from the way I like to hunt which involves lots of scouting and lots of changes in hunting locations in pursuit of deer following their constantly changing natural patterns. It also reflects my belief that the joy of hunting is in the pursuit not the final outcome.

So what's your story?

8511 is the military occupation specialty of a Marine Corps Drill Instructor and when I was on the street a lot of other hats would call me slick. Used it for a email account years ago and its just kinda stuck ever since.
