Any body hunt in Macon County near Lafayette? What's the deer population like there? It's Unit L. but just wondering what kind of sightings yall have. Thanks.

I don't hunt in Macon County, but my wife is from there. There are several deer, but most of the farmers are tobacco farmers, and not row crop farmers. Since I don't hunt the area, I can't really say. I know their local paper (Macon County Times) always has some really nice deer pictures in it during hunting season.

I hunt on the Macon/Smith line. Pretty good bit of deer. Lots of mountain oaks and chincapin (sp) oaks on my farm. Killed a pretty good 8 point up there a few years ago. You can kill a bunch of does up there.
